FREDERICK COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY SEEKS HISTORIC ITEMS FREDERICK, MARYLAND; JULY 14, 2010---The Frederick County Humane Society is commemorating the 100th anniversary of its incorporation. For purposes of compiling a history of the organization, FCHS asks the community to share any photos, press clippings, memories or anecdotes about FCHS. “The Frederick County Humane Society has enjoyed broad public support over the decades,” said Brigitte R. Farrell, Executive Director. “Thousands of people have been members, served as officers, or benefitted from FCHS programs. We hope that anyone with memories of a parent or grandparent volunteering at the Humane Society, or anyone who has things tucked away in a corner of the attic or basement will share that with us.” Materials may be mailed to or dropped off at the Frederick County Humane Society, 217 West Patrick Street. For more information, call 301-694-8300, ext 203, or email kfmoriarty@live.com. Photographs, clippings and other materials will be considered on-loan, and will be returned to the owners after being studied or photographed.
